Hello. Thank you for visiting my site. How are you? I'm giving my big puffy coat quite a workout lately (yes, I live in Los Angeles).
What’s new? Two very happy things.
First thing, I got engaged, which my cat is really relieved about. My fiancé is my favorite human, so it's cool he feels the same way about me.
Second thing, I was just cast in a lead role in an independent feature and will be shooting up in the mountains for most of next month. I imagine the puffy coat will come in handy there, as well. The script is great fun and I already love the character very much.
I recently shot a comedy pilot for the Food Network where I played a jell-o obsessed scientist from the fifties and also a sweet and slightly smothering single mother in a web series. I had the privilege of playing the parent of a biracial child, which was a first for me, career-wise. Since those particular kinds of moms and kids have been major parts of my life since before I can remember, it was wonderful being a part of the storytelling world catching up with our real one.
I also shot a fun role in Joe Black’s new feature, “Chicks, Man,” playing a fast-talking art gallery owner. Joe and I have done a pile of editing on the short we made together and I’m looking forward to getting it finished and sharing it. Acting opposite an Oscar-winning legend and actress hero of mine was a big thrill. I’m also beginning production meetings for another short I wrote and am planning to shoot this winter.
I’m continuing my training at Margie Haber Studios in their weekly Advanced Ongoing class – it’s. so. good. I also updated my dramatic and comedic reels and have already booked work directly from them, which is a pretty great feeling.
Being program staff at Camp AmeriKids for another summer was a ridiculous amount of fun and I’m counting down the days until next year already. I’m still studying Croatian, reading the Bible for the first time, and studying math. I know, I’m a party animal.
That’s it for now. Please do contact me if you’ve got a project on which you’d like to collaborate; I’m always game to play with inspired people.
Happy twinkly lights season,
